Upgrading is a way to improve your equipments Attack/Armor/Defense. Every piece of equipment can be upgraded except for ammunition. To upgrade an item you need an Upgrade Token. You can safely upgrade your equipment up to +6, after which you will need an upgrade catalyst per try.( They can be bought from Upgearia or obtained from quests)
To prevent the equipment from breaking you can use upgrade catalysts (buy them from "Upgearia" at the temple).
T1 Upgrade Catalyst is used between 6-9 to safely upgrade an item.
T2 Upgrade Catalyst is used between 10-13 to safely upgrade an item.
T3 Upgrade Catalyst is used between 14-15 to safely upgrade an item.
A broadcast will be sent if a player manages to upgrade an item to level 15.

You can also add attributes for your equipment. All equipable items on Revolution OT have rarity. Items with suitable rarity have slots in which you can add special attributes

Crystals can be obtained by breaking down Clear Tokens (which are dropped by any monster in-game). A Token Extractor is required to break down the Clear Tokens into different tokens. (You can buy it from "Upgearia" at the temple, and you also get one per character for free.).

Soul Token Has a chance to upgrade an item's itemlevel by 1. If failed, item's itemlevel decreases by 1. Clear Token
Chancing Token Rerolls the rarity on the item. Incase you go from high to low, you can lose attributes. Clear Token
Magnet Token Can be used on a piece of equipment to remove all attributes. Clear Token
Mind Crystal Extracts attributes from selected item and stores them in the crystal, can be then used on a different item of the exact same type to apply these attributes. Lower item rarity will remove exceeded attributes. Quests & Roulette.
Limitless Crystal Used to remove Item Level requirement to equip given item. Quests & Roulette.
Mirrored Crystal Used to make a copy of any item. Copies can't be modified or mirrored again. Quests & Roulette.
Void Crystal Used to transform an item into a random Unique type. Quests & Roulette.
Upgrade Catalyst Prevents item destroy on upgrade. Consumed on item upgrade. NPC Upgearia & Quests.
Clear Token There is unknown crystal inside, try to use token extractor. Randomly drops from all monsters
Token Extractor Used to extract rare crystals from clear tokens. NPC Upgearia.
Scroll of Identification Can be used on unidentified item to reveal its hidden attributes. NPC Upgearia.
